KEJRIWAL

HOW FAR WILL HE GO ??????????????????   Kejriwal is trying to scare all, and many seem to be afraid of him, but I have my sincere doubts ,as to how long will his scare last ?(COVER STORY,INDIA TODAY-Oct 29,2012)   Mr kejriwal came into prominence as Anna’s right hand man in beginning of last year and worked well with him initially, but soon started drifting, as he appears to have a mind of his own and wants to be second fiddle to none........................to the extent that he totally separated himself from the parent Anna movement to initiate his own independent political party, India Against Corruption! Like Anna he has very noble thoughts and intensions but seems that he too is going the way of Anna Movement.................Unplanned strategies, undefined goals, lack…

BLOODSHED IN BODOLAND

politics, TERRORISM
THE EXODUS CONTINUES ! A fire exploded at Kokrajhar and even before anyone could react, it spread for hundreds of miles all around and engulfed a significant part of Bodoland (India’s Biggest tragedy-a Bridge too far, Cover Story, OUTLOOK, Aug 13,2012) It continued for days fuelled by firing, killing, arson and every inhuman act one can think of...........leaving innumerable homeless and forced to move to unknown destinations...........a mass aimless exodus ! All this didn’t happen overnight, the fire was simmering since long, the smoke was being seen and smelt by all concerned except for our protective machinery including the police, law and the government, who in the true spirit of being Gandhian , are deaf, dumb and blind !Had heard and seen pictures of mass exodus during the Indo-Pak partition…

DEATH OF ANNA MOVEMENT

politics, society
CROSSROADS CROSSED ! Anna ,along with his small team and meagre resources, surfaced two years back as The Saviour for the common man to fight the ailing government machinery and to clean India from corruption.( At a Crossroads, OUTLOOK, Aug 13,2012) But the very context of move Anna has changed overnight, since the article went to the press and till the issue of OUTLOOK reached the reader The Anna movement has a very noble mission and got an unexpected overwhelming response, with Anna being called Today’s Gandhi, but the following dwindled gradually. The reasons for this are many and expected. The approach and means was not very democratic or mature. Holding government to ransom by fasting over ultra short deadlines, is not the way to bring changes .Revolutions don’t happen…

THE GAP IS WIDENING !!!!!!!!!!! My heartiest congratulations to all those who are responsible for Indias progress in every feild. We and the media seem to be celebrating it,every day but I wish that they choose a realistic rather than a glamorous picture of India,as their story. Without sounding a pessimist or a leftist ,I cannot resist but to say that we are really not ready for the extravaganza and glamour display that we are doing at present! Progress in every field is mandatory and we are progressing, but the problem is that this progress is not uniform and not in all spheres and all fields.Growth is welcome, and is being felt too, nationally and internationally but it is not universal!! Improvement in lifestyle and elevation of standards are not only being seen but…

THE ELECTION DRAMA UNFOLDS

politics, social trends
INDIAN VOTERS COME OF AGE !   Yesterday was not only  a great day for Congress to celebrate but it was also a great day for India,Indian politics and democracy and above all for the Indian Voters.!   Election 2009 have been one of the most significant elections in the time of international recession and the national political uncertainty. With innumerable parties aspiring to come to power and several self proclaimed PMs in waiting, the campaigning saw unprecedented ups and down and dramas. There was a very active role during the pre-election phase,of the educated class and the youth on India in expressing their views. This had a great impact on the voters but in spite of this the turn out for voting was unexpectedly low.   The victory of Congress and UPA,is actually well…

WHO SHOULD GOVEWRN US ?

politics
WE HAVE TO DECIDE !   I am a great fan of democracy,in politics and in life, but cant resist from wondering if there should be a QR (minimum Qualification Requirement) for those who are to govern us !   There was so much controversy recently about Sanjay Dutt, mainly as to from which party he should contest, from where and against whom. But the most important issue is that is he qualified enough to contest Lok Sabha Elections and will he be able to govern us! Is popularity the only qualification? and can notoriety be a substitute to the popularity??   We have innumerable examples of shameful.selection of candidates, including those who succeeded and came to power. Many of these rose from anonymity or infamy and rose to become the ones to walk the  corridorsof…
