UNIMPRESSIVE !

Mr S Anand ,has criticized in detail the July 8 episode of SMJ, on untouchability (Silence Eva Jayate, OUTLOOK, July 23,2012) for being prejudiced .While I agree that including the very pertinent issue of untouchability and human scavenging in the series of SMJ was essential.I also agree with Mr anand that such a topic is incomplete without the mention of Ambedkar and reservations. I would however like to add, that not only this, but almost all episodes seemed incomplete and well tutored.

Satya Mev Jayate, was in air and in talks well in advance and was adversiticed by Amir himself raising the hopes of the audience to all time high. Everyone waited for the Sunday morning for the first episode, and while that first one on female foeticide was the best in all, most of the others were not upto the mark. There were lot of expectations from the show and from Amir, but somewhere I was disappointed and I feel, that has been the general reaction too. Though most issues were important, they were not handled well. The issues were dramatised, and in doing so they often lost the real impact. It was a one sided story where there was no participation of the defender or the government or law. The show was so well planned and rehearsed that it gave an impression of lacking flow and spontaneity. At places it was dull, drab and dragged as in a documentary film. In some episodes, like that on medical practitioners, he made sweeping statements which rightfully hurt the sentiments of the sincere doctors who form the bulk of medical fraternity. Amir himself proved to be unimpressive. His interaction, expressions and emotions appeared artificial and unrealistic. The choice of issues to be discussed was random and list highly incomplete. And if the initial news of Amir getting three crores for each episode (Which was clarified by the production house, after the first episode ,as false)had any element of truth then it is unpardonable and Amir should never be forgiven for selling the evils of the country and playing with the sentiments of the sufferers. Most of these issues have been discussed in detail, with more authenticity and sincerity in shows like We The People and The Big Fight but they do not get this type of attention as they lacked the star value! The show is ending on 29th July and this too is an indicator that the show has failed to impress the masses and make the desired impact. It seems to be going off air, prematurely, as the minimum number of episodes for any contract for a TV show is thirteen, and we have had only eight episodes of SMJ

The intensions were good and the issues true and I pray that SMJ creates some awareness amongst the Indians to stand for these sufferers and raise their voice against the social evils and civil problems and hope that the donations generated by the show will be a great help for the NGOs fighting against these issues !

Respected Sir, with due respect to you for the views you just expressed above I would like to state that you are terribly misinformed and are severely ignorant regarding the facts, response, value, importance and impact Satyameva Jayate had on the masses!
I read all your views and posts on topic like Assam Molestation, Misunderstood male and many other topics and quite liked them.
But here my eyes literally got bigger as I read your opinion about Satyamev Jayate.
A few things I would like to mention before sharing my views.
First, I am not here to defend Satyamev jayate and Second, please read and analyze each word I am going to write as they present the fact and not a vague opinion as you have expressed above.

    So, here I go :

Sir, I laughed at people who mentioned “Rs 3 crore per episode fees” given to people, not because its not true but because these people were plain inactive, weak, money-minded or stupid people who get influenced so easily by MEDIA.
To read a qualified and enlightened person like you mentioning the same “3 Crore” thing was a major disappointment. If you will refer to your post in which you defended your fellow Doctors, you have spoken about the ambitions, dreams and comforts which a doctor deserve then I want to question you that SIR AAMIR KHAN(YES TO ME , HE IS A SIR) WHO HAS GIVEN TWO YEARS OF HIS LIFE TO THIS SHOW, WHO RESEARCHED DAY IN AND DAY OUT GOING TO THE REMOTE AREAS, WORKING WITH THE PRODUCTION TEAM, CREATING THE CONCEPT, HOSTING IT, GETTING ALL THE BRANDS, CONVINCING NUMBER ONE CHANNEL ON TV WITH DUBBED VERSIONS IN VARIOUS OTHER LANGUAGES AND THAT TOO IN PRIME TIME SLOT. DO U REALLY EXPECT HIM TO WORK IN SUCH A SHOW FREE OF COST??????/
THATS REALLY UNBECOMING OF AN INTELLIGENT PERSON LIKE YOU..

MOREOVER I THINK U ARE UNAWARE OF MARKET DYNAMICS.
A SHOW THAT BECOMES POPULAR IS VIEWED BY MASSES WHICH IN TURN IS APPROACHED BY MORE ADVERTISERS AND WHEN MORE ADVERTISERS WANT THEIR ADS TO BE PLAYED IN THE COMMERCIAL, THE RATE PER TEN SECONDS BECOMES HIGHER..
NOW NUMBER ONE.. CHANNEL IS EARNING.
    NUMBER TWO.. PRODUCERS ARE EARNING.
NUMBER THREE.. ADVERTISERS PRODUCT ARE GETTING POPULAR.
NUMBER FOUR.. WE, THE AUDIENCE ARE IMPROVING OUR KNOWLEDGE.
NUMBER FIVE.. SOCIETY IS IMPROVING ( AS LAW RELATING TO CHILD SEX ABUSE WILL SOON COME INTO PLACE, VARIOUS CLINICS WHERE PRE-NATAL BIRTH TESTS WERE DONE ALSO GOT CLOSED, PM PROMISED TO AAMIR ON COMING UP WITH A MANUAL SCAVENGING STRICT LAW)

Now my question to you is — Sir, you must have attended free health camps.
WILL YOU PROVIDE A FREE HEALTH CHECK UP, IF THE HOSPITAL WHERE THE CAMP IS BEING HELD CHARGES FROM THE PATIENTS, IF THE WARD BOY TO THE NURSING STAFF IS GETTING MONEY TO DO THEIR DUTIES AND IF YOUR FELLOW DOCTORS ARE ALSO BEING PAID HANDSOMELY AT THE SAME CAMP.. NO.. U WONT!!!!!

I FELT AMUSED BY YOUR IMMATURE REACTION BY SAYING SIR AAMIR SHOULD NEVER BE PARDONED IF HE IS TAKING 3 CRORE RUPEES AND YOU EVEN WENT TO THE EXTENT OF ALLEGING HIM OF SELLING THE SENTIMENTS OF SUFFERERS..??? THAT WAS HILARIOUS OF U..
I DIDNT KNEW U HAD A SENSE OF HUMOUR AS WELL..
DONT MIND IF U THINK I AM RUDE BUT MY REMARKS ARE TOWARDS YOUR BASELESS AND FRIVOLOUS COMMENTS AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU AS A PERSON.
ALSO SIR, IF HE IS GETTING 3 CRORE PER EPISODE IT IS NOT AT ANYBODY’S LOSS..
THE MONEY ACCUMULATED THROUGH ADVERTISING, SATELLITE RIGHTS AND OTHER SOURCES ARE USED TO PAY TO HIM.. MOREOVER HE HAS WORKED HARD FOR MORE THAN TWO DECADES AND BUILT HIS POSITION IN SUCH A DIFFICULT FIELD AND HE DESERVES IT..

INSTEAD HE DESERVES SOMETHING MORE THAN MONEY. APPLAUSE, RESPECT, APPRECIATION AND EVERY OTHER POSITIVE EMOTION. ALSO, JUST TO ENLIGHTEN YOU FURTHER, HE COULD HAVE EASILY DONE AT LEAST 2 FILMS IN THESE TWO YEARS AND EARNED HUNDREDS OF CRORE LIKE AKSHAYS, HASHMIS AND OTHER ACTORS BUT HE DIRECTED ALL HIS ENERGY, STRENGTH AND POWER IN MAKING SUCH A SHOW.

WHAT I FOUND SHOCKING IN YOUR ABOVE POST IS THAT YOU THINK THE EPISODES ARE INCOMPLETE AND DISAPPOINTED MASSES.. SIR, WITH DUE RESPECT,DO YOU MOVE OUT OF YOUR HOME AND INTERACT WITH PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT OCCUPATIONS?
DO YOU GO TO OTHER WEBSITES AND CHECK PEOPLE’S OPINION ABOUT THE SHOW?

I THINK YOU ARE LIVING IN YOUR OWN WORLD CONTENDED WITH YOUR OWN “INCOMPLETE” THOUGHTS..
THE PEOPLE HAVE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE SHOW AND ON POPULAR PUBLIC DEMAND, THE SECOND SEASON WILL ALSO COME. MOREOVER ALL THE TOPICS WERE RELEVANT, IMPORTANT AND HANDLED IN THE BEST MANNER( GO OUT OF YOUR HOME AND ASK COMMON MAN)
ANOTHER HILARIOUS THING YOU SAID — ” 13 EPISODES ARE THERE IN ANY CONTRACT AND WE HAD 8??
SIR, ITS NOT A REALITY SHOW OR A SOAP WHERE IN YOU CAN WRITE OR STRETCH THE SHOW.. WHEN IT WAS MADE ONLY A CERTAIN NUMBER OF EPISODES WERE FINALISED AND MADE AS WELL..
ANOTHER THING YOU MENTIONED WAS SIR AAMIR EXPRESSIONS AND EMOTIONS WERE ARTIFICIAL..?????? SIR, A PERSON WHO DEVOTES 2 YEARS OF HIS LIFE IN MAKING SUCH A SHOW WHY WILL HE ACT WHEN HIS TWO YEARS OF HARD WORK WILL BE IN FRONT OF HIS EYES??? HE WILL CRY TEARS OF JUBILATION AND OF THE FEELING THAT HE HAS DONE HIS BIT..

ANOTHER QUESTION FROM YOU SIR, “WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOUR FAMILY WATCHED A SHOW TOGETHER ON SUNDAY??”
    SHAKTIMAAN, BOMKESH-BAKSHI OR SUPERHIT MUQABLA??
SIR THAT IS WAY BACK IN THE 90s…

THE BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT OF SIR AAMIR IS THAT THOUGH HE USED HIS STARDOM AND BRAND POWER IN POPULARISING THE SHOW AND ITS SIGNIFICANTLY ISSUES BUT NEVER WERE WE MADE TO FEEL THAT ITS ABOUT A SUPERSTAR DISCUSSING SUCH ISSUES.. RATHER EVERY SINGLE INDIAN CITIZEN RELATED TO THE ISSUES RAISED AND FORGOT WHO WAS ANCHORING?

I BELIEVE YOU GOT HURT BY WHAT HE SAID ABOUT DOCTORS AND MADE SUCH OPINION WITHOUT THINKING DEEPLY.
    NEVERMIND, REALITY BITES LIKE ANYTHING!
I THINK YOU NEED TO SIT DOWN QUIETLY AWAY FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF THE CITY AND THINK ON IT AND I AM SURE YOU WILL REALIZE THE NOBILITY AND TRUE-HEARTEDNESS OF SATYAMEV JAYATE, ITS TEAM, SIR AAMIR AND WE THE INDIANS..
I WILL WAIT FOR THAT DAY SIR..

    THANK YOU
    KUMAR GAURAV
